Affordable folding sport trike
The X1, X3, and X5 series of trikes is based on the GT3# platform of folding, but made to be a sportier/faster machine. The fold is the same as the GT3 (eg. there is a hinge in the middle of the frame and the seat attaches via a single bolt and two elastomer bushes that locate on stainless steel pins.) The whole trike folds down in minutes to fit into a regular trunk.
The front end is a little different to the rest of the Greenspeed models, the wheels have 5 degrees of negative camber and some extra caster gives better feedback through the handlebars and some more "self centering" effect. The cambered front end also makes the tires hook up to the asphalt like never before and helps wear the tires more evenly.
The seat has been raked back from 40 degrees to 30 degrees, just like the GTS, which makes carving through the breeze even easier, and also aids in comfort for extended sessions in the saddle.
The X1, like the GT1, also features Sturmey-Archer mechanical drum brakes. These durable brakes make it easy to remove the wheels, require virtually no maintenance, and are almost impervious to the elements.
