Little Touring Trike
The ICE L touring tricycle is an affordably priced trike for smaller people.
It is based on the Trice Pixie, the first trike in the ICE stable to be specifically designed for riders around 5 ft (1.5m) tall. The Ice L shares the same basic proportions as the Pixie which were designed to make the trike feel just the right size for its owner. The Ice L has short (152 mm) cranks as standard. It is a sad fact that most people who should have short cranks on their bikes because of their leg length have never had the opportunity to try them. Having the cranks the right length for your leg makes for much more efficient and comfortable pedalling. ICE is committed to supplying great value for money trikes to all, not just those nearer 6 ft (1.85m) tall.
L might stand for Lovely, as this is what most riders say after a test ride. Light is another possibility, as the frame is built from lighter tubing than the rest of the Ice range This gives lighter riders a comfier ride. The Ice L’s handling is light and precise, instilling confidence in the rider. The beautifully comfortable seat ensures you return from a ride with a smile on your face.
Looks are of course important which is why the Ice L is finished in Cool White. It looks very sleek.
ICE’s experts have drawn on over twenty years of trike designing and building experience to produce a hand built machine packed with all the most important features that every proper trike should have:
- The seat is adjustable for recline angle and the cover is adjustable to make it fit you perfectly.
- The frame adjusts to suit different leg lengths and the handlebars can be moved to a position that best suits you, so you get the benefit of personally tuned comfort.
- The frame separates into small sections for easy long distance transportation.
- The frame is hand built from the finest steels available (T45 and Columbus Cro-Mo) in the UK by ICE’s expert frame builders.
ICE’s world-leading steering geometry with no brake steer for safe stopping from any speed.
- Steering that turns on taper roller bearing headsets not plain bushes.
- Ultra-reliable Sturmey Archer Drum brakes bring these machines to a stop. You will be very surprised with their performance. Drum brakes don’t squeal when they are wet and because they are dry all the time they bite more quickly in the rain. They are zero maintenance, and never require replacement pads. There is no weight penalty compared with the average disc brake, and they are cleaner and safer than a rotating disc.
- A very handy parking brake button included on both brake levers.
- Carefully selected 27 speed drive train components.
- Great looking white powder coat finish.
Price includes a Pannier Rack, Rear Mudguard (fender), a mirror, full set of chain tubes to keep the oil on the chain and off you and a flag.
NOTE: Unfortunately the ICE L has been discontinued for now. Hopefully, we'll be able to convince ICE to start making them again. Until then, this page just shows how they used to be.
